The Foundation for the Study of American Yoga

The practice of American Yoga was first developed by Monica Lind Hathaway in New York City beginning in the 1940's.  It includes working with the breath and bodywork, as well as formal mindfulness practice.

The Foundation for the Study of American Yoga was incorporated in 1969 as a non-profit corporation.  Also in 1969, the Foundation purchased a 132 acre property in upstate New York and established a center for the study and practice of American Yoga.

Facilities in the main building include two meditation rooms and accommodations for students.  In addition there are secluded hermitages on the property for individual retreats.
